Common Good Cafe & Social House – Barrie, Ontario

If you are ever in the Barrie, Ontario area, you need to pay a visit to Common Good Cafe and Social House, I would recommend making a reservation as they have a gorgeous space but space is limited! The decor is stunning, there is a home and rustic yet sleek vibe to the entire place! We had a medium to large sized group and got seated at their biggest table, it was a beautiful wooden table that was so amazing!

The staff was so friendly, they brought some water to us quickly and helped us choose what to drink. I got a peppermint tea and it was brought to me in the cutest little teapot! The presentation was on point! There was more than enough for 2-3 cups of tea from the teapot! It was the ideal temperature and was brewed to perfection! Some other people in our group got iced and hot coffees as well as other beverages as well that were all really tasty!

There is so much on their menu but we did visit in the morning, so we were partial to their breakfast items, there were so many really delicious smoothie bowls, I got the Good Monkey smoothie bowl, with bananas, strawberries and kiwis, they mixed up the toppings with the strawberry bowl which did make the combinations a little weird but it still wasn’t too bad! It also has espresso which is the perfect touch to wake me up!

We ordered the strawberry smoothie bowl, this was one of the sweetwer smoothie bowls and was really refreshing! It had a great bright colour as well, it was presented with flowers and the toppings! We got blueberries, chocolate chips and almonds in this bowl!

We also had the yogurt parfait bowl, with unsweetened greek yogurt, house-made granola, fresh berries and nuts! The presentation on this bowl was stunning! Everything was plated beautifully with the granola being placed down the middle and the berries being positioned right next to the granola, the berries were the perfect touch of sweetness as it was similar to a berry compote!

We got one omelette, and I’m not a big fan of eggs but those that did try this said it tasted pretty good and it was also presented beautifully, with toast and really nice garnishes! We also ordered a menu item called The Best, which had a fried egg, bacon, spinach, tomato, cheddar cheese, a southwest aioli and all between a croissant! We also got a side caesar salad!

Lastly, if you are going to order anything from this place I would absolutely recommend the French Toast! This is sourdough French toast with a berry compote, fresh fruit and maple syrup! This was such a beautiful menu item and it tasted as good as it looked!
