Today we decided to take a trip to Missisuaga’s Port Credit area, and visit the new Carlo’s Bake Shop! We went around 10:30am in an attempt to hopefully beat the lines, but there was still a little bit of a line when we got there. We spent about 5-8 minutes in the line and the crowd really started accumulating at this time so we made it right in time!
Once we got in, there was a really beautiful photo op area, a green wall with a neon sign saying “who wants to eat some cake?” As soon as you walk in, there is a line up that starts with the gelato and coffee area/section, then there is a long bakery and cake area!
There was so much to choose from, but we finally decided on getting some of their lobster tails, this was a puff pastry filled with a vanilla French cream! The filling in these were absolutely dreamy! We also got an almond croissant that was honestly not my favourite! The flavour of the almond croissant was lacking and it was a bit hard and tough.We also got a cookie that Buddy and his family made and packaged themselves, lastly, we got a slice of their infamous carrot cake! This was so good, and full of flavour!
As we were checking out we saw through the glass (where they were making all the bakery items) the cake boss himself, Buddy! We watched him at work, making cakes, giving the other employees advice and he actually came out and took a few photos with the customers! We managed to get a photo with him as well! He was so nice and we were so happy to live our TLC dreams! There was also a bistro section, with pizza’s and sandwiches, we got so many desserts that we decided to check out the other stuff the next time we visit!
We also got some hot drinks to go with our pastry, we got a hot chocolate, a cappuccino and a mochaccino! They were all really tasty, not too sweet, and went perfectly with the desserts! There is so much to see and experience in the bake shop, there is a large screen playing non-stop clips from the and even an area with t-shirts, water bottles and other branded merch!
I can’t wait to re-visit and try even more yummy goodies and items from here!
