If you are looking to venture out on a hike before it gets way too cold, I would definitely recommend Silver Creek Conservation Area, it is located in Halton Hills, Ontario, free admission, there is no formal parking lot, but there are some great trails that aren’t too long!

There are 4 trails that are under 2 km, these can be done with family members and children as they are not very difficult either. If you are up for a longer hike, you can take on the Bruce Trail, this trail will take you on a lengthy 6.3km trail and you will be able to see a few small waterfalls along the way!

Something to keep in mind is that this trail is not regularly cleaned or maintained, so I would not recommend going in your finest pair of sneakers! Also I would advise you to go with a few hiking buddies, as these trails are not monitored or secured by gated entrances and/or exits!
Also the trails are marked but there aren’t many signs, so definitely have your phone and the trail map on stand by to navigate through the trails! We definitely got lost and confused a few times, so be careful!
There were so many small bridges and boardwalks, this hike should not be tackled by anyone with mobility issues, there are many hills and tricky areas, if you want an easier trail you should stick to some of the shorter trails!

There are also some points along the trail that offer great views of the surrounding areas, these aren’t labelled lookout points but they are still beautiful nevertheless, and if you are lucky you will still be able to enjoy some of the fall foliage!

Let me know if you have taken a hike at Silver Creek Conservation Area and how much did you liked it!
Sincerely, Celine!
