With summer long gone and winter almost upon us, we tend to slack off on our routine to protect our skin from the sun! It is extremely important to protect our skin from ultraviolet (UV) rays all year round! 

It is well known that the sun is the most common cause of aging skin, however there are 3 different types of UV rays that come from sunlight exposure, UVA, UVB and UVC! The UVC rays are shorter and usually absorbed by the ozone layer, the UVB rays are the rays that mostly affect the utmost top layer of the skin, it causes burning, irritation and skin cancer! Lastly, UVA rays have a very long wavelength which allow them to affect the deep layers of the skin, this causing aging and wrinkles. 


We need to always wear SPF to protect our skin from UVA and UVB rays! Although we tend to spend more time inside, the sun and sun damage can definitely peek its way through and cause our skin to deteriorate and wrinkle! 

While computers and screens don’t necessarily emit UV rays, the LED lights do cause tired eyes and ultimately will affect your skin. All computers, televisions, cell phones and other devices do expose our skin and eyes to blue light, when exposed for a prolonged period of time, it will cause significant damage! 

Some of my favourite SPFs to wear all year round are, Dermalogica Prisma Protect, Bliss Block Star Invisible Daily SPF, and Vichy Ultra Fluid SPF 30!
