THE SHAW CAFE + OTHER DESSERT SPOTS AT NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE!

There are many gorgeous restaurant patios located in and around Niagara-on-the-lake, one particular patio that caught my eye was the Shaw Cafe and Bar! There are gorgeous flowers surrounding the entirety of the upstairs and downstairs patio, it is so bright and colourful, and really brings life to the ambiance of this place!

The service was great, they got us seated really quickly and our waitress was so sweet! She gave us great advice on what items on the menu she thought we would enjoy the most, because I was with a group of my friends, instead of getting separate drinks, we decided to get a pitcher of white wine sangria which was delicious! It had blueberries and raspberries, and came in the cutest pitcher!

We definitely had a tough time figuring out what to eat because they had a really good variety of items! I ended up trying the Turkey Sandwich with Onion rings as well as the Fish & Chips! They were both so fresh and tasty, the turkey sandwich was full of flavour, it wasn’t dry and the bread was tough enough to hold the sandwich together but still soft and fresh! The fish and chips were perfect, there was just enough batter and it was so crispy and light!

After dinner we decided to indulge in some dessert. We stopped by a few places in the area, the first was The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, we picked up a few things from here but the stand out item was the caramel chocolate dipped apple covered in almonds!

Because it was a beautiful summer day, we really wanted something refreshing, that’s when we spotted a gelato shop called Nina Gelateria and Pastry Shop. There were crepes, brownies, tarts, so many different pastries and many flavours of gelato! I got the tiramisu parfait and some mango gelato! The mango gelato was my favourite, honestly, I would return just for the gelato, and I’d definitely try some different flavours as well!

Definitely check out these great food and dessert spots next time you visit Niagara-on-the-lake!

Sincerely, Celine!
