On a recent short trip to Vancouver – there were many food places I tried, because the foodie in me needed to explore, and needless to say everything was amazing!
To get to our point of destination, we had to travel a lot and our first stop was Horseshoe Bay. We had a bit of time before getting on our ferry here. There is a really lively and well-rounded area called ‘the village” where there are restaurants, shops, etc. We stopped here to explore a bit and decided to grab something to eat at Olive and Anchor and it was an awesome decision!
They have a beautiful restaurant that is close to the boardwalk, so you’re able to see the water and mountains while you eat! Their decor and overall vibe was lovely and relaxing! They seated us very quickly and we opted to sit on the patio area because the weather was great and we wanted to take in the view!

The staff was really friendly and accommodating – especially since we were on a time crunch and they got our food and drinks to us quickly! When we sat down we had a tough time deciding what to order because everything looked so good! We ordered our drinks first, I went with a classic cosmopolitan and it did not disappoint! It was fresh, tangy and perfectly chilled! My friend got the Dark and Stormy cocktail which was full of flavour – it was definitely my favorite drink out of the two, it had dark rum, ginger beer, bitters, lime, mint, and it was served in a mule cup which kept it cold! Presentations on the drinks were top notch!

As for our eats, we went with some quick lighter bites, opting for the Buratta and KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) Wings! The Buratta was a weekend fav, it was so fresh and was served with pesto oil, cherry tomatoes drizzled with balsamic glaze and toasted fresh bread topped with olive oil! It was light, tasty, packed with flavour and honestly the perfect bite! I just wish it had a few extra pieces of bread, there was so much Burrata and sides that I wanted to savor it a little while longer!

Next, we got the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) Wings, which were served with House-made Korean sweet chili glaze, crushed cashews, sesame seeds, and micro radish sprouts! Talk about FLAVOUR! This was the perfect sweet and spicy, these wings weren’t totally drenched in sauce – which is what I prefer sometimes, but in this case, it added the perfect amount of sweetness! It was crispy and the crushed cashews added that extra layer of crunch!

Needless to say, I would return in a heartbeat, food was tasty, drinks were refreshing, and service was really accommodating! If you are ever in the area, I would highly recommend checking them out!
Sincerely, Celine
