With the holidays among us, and having to be restricted due to the pandemic can put a damper on the festivities! Here are some ideas to treat yourself at home, and elevate your evening with some holiday themed cocktails and mocktails!
CRAN APPLE SANGRIA
I love sangrias in all shapes and forms and this holiday inspired version of a sangria is amazing! It stays true to the true base ingredients of a typical sangria but the inclusions are festive with cranberries, apples and mint!
RECIPE
- ½ cup of cranberries
- 1 diced apple and tossed in lime juice
- 1 cup of cranberry juice
- 1 cup of club soda
- 1 cup of gingerale or sprite
- 2 cups of white wine
MINT SPIKED HOT CHOCOLATE
First up is a twist on a classic drink, everyone loves a warm cup of hot chocolate to celebrate the winter season! This can be made with some peppermint for a little added flavour! This drink on its own is comforting and a serious treat! If you’d like an extra kick add some cream liquor like baileys!
Recipe:
- 1 pack of instant hot chocolate
- 1 oz of baileys or kahlua (any cream liquor will work)
- OPTIONAL: Marshmallow and/or candy cane for garnish
SPARKLING POMEGRANATE FIZZ
This is my absolute favourite holiday drink! First, dilute pomegranate juice with a little water, then pour into an ice cube tray and freeze for a few hours. Add to glass then pour sparkling wine and ginger ale on top and watch the drink change to a beautiful red colour! Add mint or thyme for garnish!
RECIPE:
- 3 cups of pomegranate juice
- 3 cups water
- Sparkling white wine
- Ginger ale
PEPPERMINT SNOWFLAKE MARTINI
This martini is definitely different when compared to a classic martini, it is not one that can be modified into a mocktail, but it is definitely still tasty and sweet! For mine, I opted out for the baileys but added a little extra vodka!
OPTIONAL: FOR THE RIM – Spread a thin line of vanilla icing around the rim and then coat with sprinkles!
Recipe:
- Half cup of whole milk
- ¼ cup of baileys
- 2 oz. vanilla vodka
- Ice
- OPTIONAL: Top with mini candy cane for garnish!
Enjoy these festive holiday drinks!
Sincerely, Celine!
The Hot Chocolate one looks amazing!
